Every year I try to update my favorite iPhone apps list. These apps are my current favorites. Many are helpful while traveling or for travel photography.
Current model: iPhone4, 32GB, firmware 4.01.

Google Voice – forward your mobile’s voice messages transcribed to your email or listen to them.
Google Maps – must have for foreign travel. Getting to my final destination (red dart) in Madrid on a bike. Blue dart current location
Google Translate (app not web version) – speak and then, read or listen to translation.

Kayak – The best airline ticket consolidator
Photoshop Express – tweaking pics and something free from Adobe!
Angry Birds – I am not a gamer but this is addicting. Great animation and physics.

FTPOnTheGo – Getting files to servers and getting files down to your iPhone.
Tweetdeck – bring your online social networks together (Facebook Column shown)
NYT – hardcopy cost; $5/day, mobile cost has been raised to $3.50/week. Otherwise, only first 20 articles are free.

WifiTrak. A better wifi finder. The top listed network is open with the strongest signal. Better than Appleās WIFI Settings.
iPhone Kindle App – surprisingly readable, better prices than Apple’s iBook.
Pano – your wide angle solution to the iPhone camera. (inset is panorama result)

Skype – voice over IP standard.
Shazam – Because I don’t know what I am listening to.
WordPress App – working on website from iPhone.

Adobe Ideas – Free vector-based sketch app. Probably nicer on an iPad. (route to Diamond)
Camera+ – A highly rated replacement for the Camera app. Touch focus/exposure. Better digital zooming & built in photo editor.
Vimeo – a video editor on your iPhone. Giving iMovie a run but more importantly giving you free video server streaming.
